Church bay chill

Sometimes a quick sail out for a leisurely meal and some sun is a great way to use the boat. Tracey joined me for her first sail on Lady Ash at Church bay.

Well done Tracey glad you enjoyed it. 12NM on log.

Down to Llandwyn Island

We set sail down to Llandwyn Island and the weather was really nice and the wind forecast 4/5 calming to 3/4. We pulled in closer to the coast on the way down to get a better view of the stacks. A really nice sail down, it was a great sunset when we arrived.

As usual down at pilot cove the sound of the seals calling was very eerie. We awoke to see porpoises swimming about in the channel over Carnarvon bar. There were quite a few yachts in the bay, after breakfast we set off back and the wind was mainly on the nose so we motored back.

Tuce here wrapped up against the cold wind as we returned to Holyhead. Great weekend, 35NM on the log.

12-13/6/10 trip to Porth Wen

I set off around Carmel Head and the overfalls were a little more lively than expected! Once through and past the West Mouse I motored down to the brick works.
It was the World Cup footabll thingy so I listened to the match on the radio while having my dinner.

A nice sail on the way back with a little rain. 2.5 engine hours on the way down but only 1.5 on the way back across Holyhead bay. 20NM on the log. Once I got back into the marina the sun came out!

Fog bank 5/6/10

I set off for Llandywn Island but nearing North Stack I found a fog bank, It looked menacing and as I didn't know how far it extended I decided to go back. Just as well, where I would have entered it two yachts came out... 8NM.
