New anti foul, mothers day treat!

Well the day arrived I had been dreading, the anti foul. When I bought Lady Ash she was ready to go from a hull point of view so I didn't have to do it last year. But with 6th April launch looming I had to get over to Holyhead and do the deed. With some advice from James and Steve at the yacht shop and help from pensioners! I managed to get her ship shape and ready for another season immersed in the briny. A rub down and two coats of tiger in souvenir blue left her looking pretty.
The sacrificial shaft anode that I put on last year had gone so Steve (who only had a 22mm, I needed a 25mm) reamed out a 22mm and fitted it. After burring the thread ends and sealing with some sikaflex it was ready for action. You can see her with the first coat and all the boats in front that have to go in before her. The last shot is with both coats.

Emerging from winter

Lady Ash had weathered the winter well. I climbed aboard and inspected her. The engine took a short time to turn over but soon roared into life, I expected to have to charge the battery.
If anything the decks seemed cleaner I suppose a winter of fresh water weathering rather than sea water had helped. I took out the sails to get them inspected and repaired, I just need to antifoul the hull and do some woodwork before she goes back in on April the 6th. I think I may try to remote the main halyard and reefing though! Roll on summer.
