Well I only had one more chance before admitting defeat and buying the new toilet.
I sealed the stripped threads of the cleaning access by packing with a quick setting putty.
Hurray a working toilet, one false move and it is in the skip and will be mended with a new one.
Had to secure the boat against the impending storm forecast, hope she is there next week.
Well jobs completed are new stern light, new steaming light bulb and two new midship cleats.
I ordered some of the old tufnol material so that they matched the rest.
I am really struggling to re-thread the pushpit with the wiring for the nav lights. Hopefully I will sort this soon. I am awaiting the arrival of a dinghy and any time soon hope to get a crew (at least one other) so we can get a sail and see what she is made of.
The cheeks of the plastimo furling gear needed replacing so I have ordered those.
As you can see in the background there was a great rainbow today, oh please can I actually sail here soon.....
Well last session I put noise absorbing foam in the engine compartment, got some midship cleats and fairleads on (to help when crew levels are low), finally managed to get my new navigation lights on. Unfortunately the storm had ripped off some wood at the back of the boat, mainly wrongly placed fairleads. I am going to re think and position the fairleads to optimise the springs. I have left the piece that was still attached from the other side with a joiner. I am still awaiting the gas man to fit the new gas box and bottles. I decided to go for camping gaz, it is more expensive but more available away from UK. Hopefully next week is going to be for sailing.
