Man overboard and toilet....

I needed to find a man overboard system. There was an old lifebuoy but no danbouy.
As with everything on this boat I needed something a bit smaller than normal. Enter the inflatable danbouy. Great idea. So now have a lifebuoy connected to an inflatable danbuoy. I will probably go for a throwing line and harness at some point
too.
The toilet had been playing up and so I was advised by Mailspeed Marine to bypass the service kit for the TMC toilet and get a new Lavac. Did I listen....no. After
spending ages servicing the toilet or as my mum might say "mending it worse" I got pretty pissed off with stale piss and leaking pipes. I decided to take it all out and start again. Even down to taking off the wood mounting board to varnish it. I did get a laugh though as the previous toilet sufferer had written in mastic "shit again", very funny, cheered me up no end.

VHF DSC

Well it took me a while to make a new control panel and stain and varnish it but even with my basic carpentry skills it is a much better job than before. I decided to change the normal VHF for a DSC so it would enhance the safety of crew and Captain!
But it took me ages to get the NMEA output from the GPS to talk to the radio, this was mainly due to me not plugging the aerial in DOH. I also put up a new clock and barometer and extra galley stowage.
Next job toilet and Man overboard gear...
