To Traeth Bychan and back

I set off at 1700 with the odd shower, forecast SW-W 4-5.
Rounded Lynas at 1900 and arrived at Traeth Bychan at 2100, distance 26NM.
Amazing clouds and the sunshine bursting through in spectacular fashion.

I anchored off the sailing club area and returned the next day. Nice and sunny on the return journey with a rare passenger ship passing by. 19NM on the log 27.1 on GPS. Set off home at 11.00 arrived 16.30.

Llanddwyn Island to Holyhead

Tope was still not feeling 100% but with the weather nice and sunny we decided to go ashore in the dinghy to explore the island. It is very beautiful, we set off back to Holyhead dragging the dinghy behind as I hate deflating and packing away on the boat, oh for a larger boat with a davit!

4.5 hours back to Holyhead, 22NM.
great weekend.

Holyhead to Pilot Cove

We had a new crew member on board today, Tope joined us for a trip down the West coast. We had about 13 kts of wind so a really nice sail down to the island taking 4 hours. Tope wasn't feeling too well (not sea sick!).

Holyhead to Porth Wen

I exited the harbour motoring past a cruise liner, capacity about 3500!
Very exciting seeing such a large liner. It was a misty start and potential for fog.

Things cleared up as I sailed down to Porth Wen and stayed there for a while I had to anchor on the end of a line of yachts. An increasing 35knot wind and a rising tide resulted in the anchor dragging which pushed me out into the tidal flow. I had to pull up the anchor and decided to go to Lamb Island. Possibly to avoid the embarrassment of going back into the bay. 16NM log 19.5GPS.

Pilot Cove to Holyhead

After a nice evening I got up and had breakfast. Always a pleasure having breakfast in such a great spot. It wasn't as sunny as it has been down here but still beautiful. I set off at 8.30 and got into Holyhead at 12.30 22NM.

Choppy on the way home!
